In the 40th minute Geovanildo Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Scarlet Speedster's Raigo Vananurm dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Ryszard Janiczek charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Adhemar Santos came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Naldo Proença could save by the left post. Naldo Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar Santos in the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Severino in the 80th minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horácio Abraão in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Naldo Proença saved Scarlet Speedster from getting behind. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Naldo Proença, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 92nd minute Horácio Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Haji Sarap made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Joinville City - FSCMZ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
