Édouard Mendy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Abel Vidal's late challenge caught a ADM Taquaras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eliseu Alagoano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Al-Fajuth defense, Oliver Bierhoff kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Édouard Mendy. The Al-Fajuth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Édouard Mendy should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute, Oliver Bierhoff left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tales De Mileto in the 79th minute of play forced Al-Fajuth's goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, ADM Taquaras's Oliver Bierhoff ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Édouard Mendy. Édouard Mendy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-10. In the 86th minute of the match ADM Taquaras got a corner. Al-Fajuth's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Áron Bódog ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 87th minute Oliver Bierhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Édouard Mendy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Al-Fajuth's Édouard Mendy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Áron Bódog in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Áron Bódog dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Édouard Mendy, 0-11. In the 95th minute Áron Bódog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Édouard Mendy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
