When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cássio Segundo sped through Al-Fajuth's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Édouard Mendy. Alfredo Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Cris Fenomeno got free with Édouard Mendy in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rômulo Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Édouard Mendy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Édouard Mendy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Segundo in the 96th minute of play. Red Chicken Football played a much better game than Al-Fajuth and deserved their victory. The Al-Fajuth players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
