Quintino Carvalhais started the match with the kick off. Zigmantas Gimbutas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bran Allison having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 4th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Bran Allison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ademir Rodrigues took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonio Adán. Antonio Adán dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Antonio Adán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cengizhan Baycan in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Zigmantas Gimbutas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bran Allison, 1-1. In the 15thth minute of the game Cengizhan Baycan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Braga's Antonio Adán was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antonio Adán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Trezeguet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, SC Braga's Bran Allison threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Quintino Carvalhais, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 22 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Trezeguet came free, but Antonio Adán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Trezeguet in the 26th minute of play forced SC Braga's goalkeeper Antonio Adán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Adán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cengizhan Baycan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Braga's goalkeeper Antonio Adán, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cactos's Bran Allison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quintino Carvalhais in the 40th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cengizhan Baycan to make the kick off. Cengizhan Baycan scored 1-3 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonio Adán, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cengizhan Baycan scored 1-4 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonio Adán, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The SC Braga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Adán should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, SC Braga's Geraldo Lucas got a free kick in the 74th minute. Bran Allison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 79th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SC Braga's Pipis Dilberis got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Antonio Adán made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Matias Gaitan sent off a good shot on target.
