Patric Isaksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Messi, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Agustín Tastzian sped through Corinthians's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jaime Almeida. If Cristiano Messi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute Agustín Tastzian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Corinthians's Jaime Almeida got control of the ball when Agustín Tastzian tried to sneak it across the goal line.
