When Alperen Öksüz came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the New England Minas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alperen Öksüz couldn't finish the play. Sandrinho Valle's late challenge caught a New England Minas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edvaldo Brasil was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nilmar de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. New England Minas's Edgardo Silva was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 64th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. New England Minas made a substitution. SAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tio Lio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. Tony Pacheco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edvaldo Brasil came out and tried to block the shot, but Tony Pacheco slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 87th minute. The supporters of New England Minas booed when SAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball.
