The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mohamed Basso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Wincent Dropinski made a huge save. Capibaribe Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wilton Fontes in the 8th minute. The corner led Capibaribe Stars's Jarl Rossebø to fire away a dangerous shot which Wincent Dropinski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wincent Dropinski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mohamed Basso's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Mohamed Basso came free, but Wincent Dropinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Capibaribe Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarl Rossebø to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mohamed Basso made a kick off. Wincent Dropinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Basso in the 51st minute of play. Robben Spoelberchs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Thomás Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Capibaribe Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Capibaribe Stars fans cheered their team off the field, for while Castanheiro SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
