An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Rodas in the 10th minute of play forced Sportivo Luan Toro's goalkeeper Robert Davison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Sportivo Luan Toro's Marcial Iigo to fire away a dangerous shot which Teodoro Peio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Olli Fiedler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Teodoro Peio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Teodoro Peio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olli Fiedler went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Teodoro Peio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olli Fiedler, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Olli Fiedler came free, but Teodoro Peio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Atlético Nacional got a corner. Sportivo Luan Toro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Baldomero Rodas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vicente Sasoin made a great header on Atlético Nacional's corner, it was just that Sportivo Luan Toro's Robert Davison managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 38th minute Olli Fiedler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Peio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Sundin hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Alberto Azevedo to make the kick off. Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olli Fiedler in the 52nd minute of play. In the 60th minute Olli Fiedler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Peio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicanor Karmel's late challenge caught a Sportivo Luan Toro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicanor Karmel helped the player get up and apologised. Sportivo Luan Toro's Martins Palermo was substituted for Olli Fiedler. Nicanor Karmel kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Teodoro Peio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Martins Palermo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Teodoro Peio made a huge save. 68 minutes into the match, Sportivo Luan Toro's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Azevedo came free, but Robert Davison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sportivo Luan Toro booed when Atlético Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Karmel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Martins Palermo fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sportivo Luan Toro's protests and gave Martins Palermo a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes Sportivo Luan Toro got a freekick which was hit by Martins Palermo. Nicanor Karmel hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Teodoro Peio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martins Palermo in the 87th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Sportivo Luan Toro's Martins Palermo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Teodoro Peio. That made the score 0-4 after 92 minutes of play. 95 minutes into the game, Martins Palermo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teodoro Peio. Martins Palermo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. The Atlético Nacional supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sportivo Luan Toro's performance. The match ended with a win for Sportivo Luan Toro.
