Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Sabaneta FC from getting a goal against them. When Atlético Municipal's Willie Colon in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kevin Mier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willie Colon in the 51st minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Atlético Municipal's Oscar De León sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kevin Mier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute of the game, Firman Urquizu landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Azubeli Roman charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Azubeli Roman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sabaneta FC booed when Atlético Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azubeli Roman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético Municipal's Cordero Gipils was substituted for Azubeli Roman. Willie Colon might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kevin Mier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Willie Colon ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62nd minute Willie Colon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Willie Colon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kevin Mier was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Kevin Mier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Willie Colon's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Sabaneta FC were furious when Osmundo Bolde was red carded, 78 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Atlético Municipal made a substitution. Henry Fiola replaced Andoni Viguri. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sabaneta FC! In the 86th minute, Willie Colon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sabaneta FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
