In the 12th minute Willie Colon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Willie Colon notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier. Kevin Mier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chuan Cintron made an important save on a dangerous shot by Helder Cadanes in the 23rd minute. Kevin Mier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willie Colon, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Sabaneta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Municipal the free kick. In the 27th minute, Petri Romuroso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute Petri Romuroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chuan Cintron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chuan Cintron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rian Giggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Willie Colon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sabaneta FC's zone, Willie Colon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Mier came out of the goal and Willie Colon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chuan Cintron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helder Cadanes in the 39th minute of play. After 40 played minutes Atlético Municipal got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Galve. Petri Romuroso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Chuan Cintron made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar De León came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chuan Cintron made an important save on a dangerous shot by Firman Urquizu in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rian Giggs was the one to do the kick off. Kevin Mier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar De León, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Helder Cadanes in the 57th minute of play forced Atlético Municipal's goalkeeper Chuan Cintron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willie Colon struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Kevin Mier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Municipal. Atlético Municipal's Cordero Gipils was substituted for Azubeli Roman. Atlético Municipal made a substitution. Gau Resto replaced Oscar De León. In the 63rd minute Helder Cadanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chuan Cintron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sabaneta FC! If Antonio Masciarelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. Osmundo Bolde made in the 74th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Petri Romuroso however managed to control. 78 minutes into the match, Atlético Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Rian Giggs came free, but Chuan Cintron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 81 minutes, Willie Colon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Municipal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Willie Colon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sabaneta FC's Osmundo Bolde got a free kick in the 84th minute. The audience was convinced that Rian Giggs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chuan Cintron was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. A collision led to Sabaneta FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rian Giggs hit a great ball. After 91 minutes of play, Atlético Municipal's Willie Colon made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kevin Mier was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chuan Cintron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Masciarelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Sabaneta FC got a corner. Atlético Municipal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Osmundo Bolde ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Sabaneta FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Atlético Municipal's performance. The match ended with a win for Atlético Municipal.
