Gonzo Abastas was slow to take the kick. During this time Sportivo Chupeño's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Sportivo Chupeño's corner Francis Stuart fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Augusto Vergílio quite easily take care of the ball. The Sportivo Chupeño fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Sportivo Chupeño's Francis Stuart looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 15 minutes into the game, Lamento Boliviano's Jos Musseeuw nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lamento Boliviano's Augusto Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard De Fretes in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francis Stuart in the 21st minute of play forced Lamento Boliviano's goalkeeper Augusto Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Chinto Espinoza successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With an all-out effort, Lamento Boliviano's Chinto Espinoza threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jos Musseeuw, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Francis Stuart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Vergílio having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Sportivo Chupeño got a freekick which was hit by Gringo Heinze.

Lamento Boliviano's Uxio Abello was substituted for Manu Abajas. Chinto Espinoza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Algimantas Tarasevičius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lamento Boliviano's goalkeeper Augusto Vergílio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Francis Stuart made a precise shot to the right of Augusto Vergílio. Lamento Boliviano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
