In the 7th minute Ingmar Wiman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicanor Ascencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11thth minute of the game Ingmar Wiman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Pulpo Paceño's Nicanor Ascencio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Deportivo Empate's Kristoffer Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svetoslav Genkov in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Deportivo Empate's goal looked a bit too open when Aristides Lluc came free, but Kristoffer Martinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingmar Wiman got free with Nicanor Ascencio in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kristoffer Martinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Lluc in the 26th minute of the match. Kristoffer Martinsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Svetoslav Genkov's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After some careless play in the El Pulpo Paceño defense, Ingmar Wiman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicanor Ascencio. The El Pulpo Paceño fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicanor Ascencio should have stopped the shot. Nicanor Ascencio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingmar Wiman in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Nickolai Skivild hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Deportivo Empate's goal looked a bit too open when Maicon Borges came free, but Kristoffer Martinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aristides Lluc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristoffer Martinsson having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joseph Lockwood stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Empate's Luis Mendez got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute Nickolai Skivild shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicanor Ascencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of El Pulpo Paceño booed when Deportivo Empate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingmar Wiman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicanor Ascencio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Nicanor Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingmar Wiman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by El Pulpo Paceño's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nicanor Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingmar Wiman, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Ingmar Wiman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Empate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingmar Wiman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Deportivo Empate fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Deportivo Empate's Ingmar Wiman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicanor Ascencio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Empate fans cheered their team off the field, for while El Pulpo Paceño had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
