Gonzalo Berdugo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tytus Dudkowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Tytus Dudkowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonzalo Berdugo was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. The supporters of Pepsi Fuchibol Clu booed when Sporting Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mino Abellaneda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 42 minutes Sporting Cristal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cordera Abella who took care of the corner kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

A nice corner shot did that Cordera Abella got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gonzalo Berdugo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gonzalo Berdugo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavierlada Abarca's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Although Pepsi Fuchibol Clu had been in control for most of the match, Sporting Cristal still came away with the win.
