With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonio Buccella prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th minute of the match, Edvard Slæggerup got a very nice opportunity to score, but Giacomo Casanova was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Antonio Buccella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loco Palermo in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match Montesacro FC got a corner. Gabbro FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paolo Rossi ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Alkinoos Baloukos managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Loco Palermo struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Antonio Buccella didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montesacro FC. A collision led to Gabbro FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cemil Tanacan hit a great ball. Nicholas Langsford hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Gabbro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paolo Rossi came free, but Antonio Buccella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Buccella stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paolo Rossi's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. 28 minutes into the game, Montesacro FC's Paolo Rossi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonio Buccella made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Antonio Buccella took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loco Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antonio Buccella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paolo Rossi in the 37th minute of play. Edvard Slæggerup could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Giacomo Casanova made a huge save. In the 46thth minute of the game Paolo Rossi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gabbro FC's Antonio Buccella was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giacomo Casanova showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Mancinelli in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edvard Slæggerup to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Gabbro FC got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Mancinelli. Antonio Buccella made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paolo Rossi in the 55th minute. Montesacro FC made a substitution. Dimitar Berbatov replaced Mathias Almeyda. The supporters of Montesacro FC booed when Gabbro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvard Slæggerup didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alkinoos Baloukos made in the 64th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gabbro FC's Gustavo Piearres. With his leg Antonio Buccella managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Montesacro FC's Paolo Rossi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Montesacro FC's Anthony Del Gatto got a free kick in the 70th minute. Edvard Slæggerup's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giacomo Casanova read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Edvard Slæggerup received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Giacomo Casanova tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 74 minutes, Paolo Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montesacro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paolo Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paolo Rossi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antonio Buccella came out and tried to block the shot, but Paolo Rossi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Paolo Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montesacro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paolo Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Buccella breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the match, Gabbro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Loco Palermo came free, but Antonio Buccella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute of the match Montesacro FC got a corner. Gabbro FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After taking down the ball on Montesacro FC's corner Paolo Rossi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antonio Buccella quite easily take care of the ball. The Gabbro FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Montesacro FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Montesacro FC.
