The audience thought a goal was coming when Niculae Podgoreanu got free with Calistrat Madgearu in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 30 minutes of play, MIT Craiova's Dorin Banu made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silviu Lung was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silviu Lung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiberiu Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silviu Lung read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiberiu Caramarin in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silviu Lung prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiberiu Caramarin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
