The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Theagenis Giannou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaggelis Mitsiou in the 6th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Nikos Stavrou reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thanasis Koltsidas. The goal made the score 1-0. Thanasis Koltsidas acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 29th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fanis Peros. AEK S.C's Vaggelis Mitsiou got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vaggelis Mitsiou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vaggelis Mitsiou in the 34th minute of play forced Lipochσrion FC's goalkeeper Theagenis Giannou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theagenis Giannou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vaggelis Mitsiou's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Donzel Goyeneta managed to get in a good position for a shot. AEK S.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Donzel Goyeneta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theagenis Giannou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Vaggelis Mitsiou left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AEK S.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nikos Stavrou made a kick off. AEK S.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 77 played minutes AEK S.C got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Hats. AEK S.C made a substitution. Thalis Krommidas replaced Vaggelis Mitsiou. 79 minutes into the match, AEK S.C's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Stavrou came free, but Thanasis Koltsidas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thalis Krommidas got free with Theagenis Giannou in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lipochσrion FC's Theagenis Giannou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Lipochσrion FC from getting a goal against them. Theagenis Giannou made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Kevin Carreira sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute, Kevin Carreira made a precise shot to the right of Theagenis Giannou. Lipochσrion FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.
