A throw-in in the 5th minute of the game was made by Fanis Peros with Thanos Agapoulis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Lipochσrion FC booed when MIT Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radu Sărăroiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Nikos Stavrou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Calistrat Madgearu was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Tiberiu Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Theagenis Giannou read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikos Stavrou in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Calistrat Madgearu saved MIT Craiova from getting behind. In the 17th minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theagenis Giannou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiberiu Caramarin struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Theagenis Giannou didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MIT Craiova. Theagenis Giannou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiberiu Caramarin's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute MIT Craiova were awarded a corner. Mihăiţă Ilarie went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 27th minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theagenis Giannou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nikos Stavrou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mihăiţă Ilarie hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Theagenis Giannou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 37th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the game, MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Theagenis Giannou made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.

The wind increased when Tiberiu Caramarin made the kick off in the second half. Theagenis Giannou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 51st minute of the match. Tiberiu Caramarin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Theagenis Giannou having to make a save. In the 53rd minute of the match, Tiberiu Caramarin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Theagenis Giannou saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Theagenis Giannou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorin Banu got free with Theagenis Giannou in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lipochσrion FC's Theagenis Giannou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute of the match MIT Craiova got a corner. Lipochσrion FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mihăiţă Ilarie ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorin Banu got free with Theagenis Giannou in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lipochσrion FC's Theagenis Giannou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 65th minute of play. Dinu Grigoroiu hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. MIT Craiova's David Tunander was substituted for Dorin Banu. A collision led to MIT Craiova getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Dinu Grigoroiu hit a great ball. Nikos Stavrou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Calistrat Madgearu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikos Stavrou in the 74th minute of play. Theagenis Giannou was a little too slow when Tiberiu Caramarin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 0-4. MIT Craiova made a substitution. Fabian Geantă replaced Mihăiţă Ilarie. Theagenis Giannou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 81st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Tunander got free with Theagenis Giannou in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Theagenis Giannou came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin. But to his dismay, Tiberiu Caramarin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 92 minutes into the game, Tiberiu Caramarin lined in a short shot 0-6 behind a frustrated Theagenis Giannou. When the match was over MIT Craiova could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lipochσrion FC throughout the match.
