Thalis Krommidas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Theagenis Giannou made a huge save. Thalis Krommidas might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Theagenis Giannou. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thalis Krommidas ran back to his position shaking his head. Lipochσrion FC's Theagenis Giannou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Lipochσrion FC from getting a goal against them. AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Necat Baysal in the 8th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thalis Krommidas got free with Theagenis Giannou in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute, Thanos Agapoulis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kevin Carreira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Theagenis Giannou. Lipochσrion FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Theagenis Giannou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thalis Krommidas in the 16th minute. Necat Baysal took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thanasis Koltsidas. Thanasis Koltsidas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Necat Baysal in the 28th minute of play forced AEK S.C's goalkeeper Thanasis Koltsidas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, AEK S.C's Rodrigo Hats got a free kick in the 34th minute. Theagenis Giannou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thalis Krommidas in the 36th minute. Lipochσrion FC's Theagenis Giannou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thalis Krommidas in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thalis Krommidas in the 44th minute of play forced Lipochσrion FC's goalkeeper Theagenis Giannou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes Lipochσrion FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Carreira who took care of the corner kick. After the first half Lipochσrion FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nikos Stavrou to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Lipochσrion FC booed when AEK S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thalis Krommidas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikos Stavrou might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thanasis Koltsidas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nikos Stavrou ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanasis Koltsidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Stavrou, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Theagenis Giannou came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by AEK S.C's Kevin Carreira. But to his dismay, Kevin Carreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. AEK S.C made a substitution. Vaggelis Mitsiou replaced Thalis Krommidas. In the 66th minute, Vaggelis Mitsiou made a precise shot to the right of Theagenis Giannou. Lipochσrion FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. A collision led to AEK S.C getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Rodrigo Hats hit a great ball. Theagenis Giannou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donzel Goyeneta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lipochσrion FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vaggelis Mitsiou was slow to take the kick. During this time AEK S.C's players had a chance to rest. João Francisco de Andrade hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. AEK S.C made a substitution. Thomas Papatrechas replaced João Francisco de Andrade. AEK S.C's Sakis Tavlaridis was substituted for Alfaro Meo. In the 77th match minute, AEK S.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Francisco de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas got control of the ball when Nikos Stavrou tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lipochσrion FC's goalkeeper Theagenis Giannou, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Vaggelis Mitsiou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theagenis Giannou was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Theagenis Giannou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donzel Goyeneta in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Lipochσrion FC's goal looked a bit too open when Donzel Goyeneta came free, but Theagenis Giannou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AEK S.C walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
