But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriele Batistuta couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute Dries van Veldhuizen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriele Batistuta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Bonifacio Baumer made a huge save. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Enhebrator FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Armando Roland was slow to take the kick. During this time Menchu FC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Tomas Cordaryal heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Enhebrator FC's Dries van Veldhuizen in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Menchu FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Menchu FC defense, Carlos Calvet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Camilo Salvidor. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dries van Veldhuizen to strike the kick off in the second half. Camilo Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitt Back in the 51st minute of play. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dries van Veldhuizen in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Peter Söderqwist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Menchu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Söderqwist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bonifacio Baumer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enhebrator FC made a substitution. Alejo Marz replaced Carlos Calvet. Menchu FC's Arturo Roderigo was substituted for Peter Söderqwist. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernard Janiczek in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Salvidor saved Menchu FC from getting behind. Jairo Hulberto made a great header on Enhebrator FC's corner, it was just that Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bonifacio Baumer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Firmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 92 minutes into the game, Silverio Sergi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Menchu FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Enhebrator FC the free kick.
