An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Nordlander in the 5th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Östen Hedin during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 7 played minutes DIF LEEDS BK got a freekick which was hit by Östen Hedin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Novac in the 9th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the game, DIF LEEDS BK's Ulf Nordlander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vítor Baia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 19th minute Silviu Novac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brazilio Butt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnauld Van Impe in the 20th minute of the match. Brazilio Butt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnauld Van Impe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brugge United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaspar Van Den Broeck in the 23rd minute. In the 23rd minute, Arnauld Van Impe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, DIF LEEDS BK's goal looked a bit too open when Laurențiu Roşculeţ came free, but Brazilio Butt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Baia made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Silviu Novac sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rdth minute of the game Arnauld Van Impe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DIF LEEDS BK's Brazilio Butt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ulf Nordlander fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DIF LEEDS BK's protests and gave Ulf Nordlander a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd match minute, DIF LEEDS BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulf Nordlander to maneuver through the defense. After 45 played minutes DIF LEEDS BK got a freekick which was hit by Ni Kun Jian. After having played for 46 minutes, Jaspar Van Den Broeck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaspar Van Den Broeck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnauld Van Impe to make the kick off. Brazilio Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ümit Karan in the 54th minute of play. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by DIF LEEDS BK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaspar Van Den Broeck was slow to take the kick. During this time Brugge United's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Brugge United's corner Jaspar Van Den Broeck fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Brazilio Butt quite easily take care of the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Silviu Novac came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. DIF LEEDS BK made a substitution. Villiam Alströmmer replaced Tanek Bobrowski. After a rather tough play, DIF LEEDS BK's Jesper Larsson got a free kick in the 66th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnauld Van Impe in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brazilio Butt saved DIF LEEDS BK from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Novac in the 75th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. DIF LEEDS BK's Brazilio Butt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save DIF LEEDS BK from getting a goal against them. Brazilio Butt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 82nd minute. Ulf Nordlander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Vítor Baia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mei Jie Feng kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Silviu Novac took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vítor Baia. Vítor Baia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Many of Brugge United's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Brugge United may have spent more time on the ball, but DIF LEEDS BK were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
