Luisito Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casimiro Ugutz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Inocencio Felipo. Inocencio Felipo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 24th minute Nouvelle Vague were awarded a corner. Delmiro Emeterio went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Nouvelle Vague's corner Delmiro Emeterio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luisito Quinten quite easily take care of the ball. Lyons's Ruperto Salvadore quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cayetano Cordaro, made in the 33rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Nouvelle Vague's Delmiro Emeterio got a free kick in the 39th minute. Inocencio Felipo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boleslaw Zielinski in the 41st minute of the match. Folke Billberg hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Nouvelle Vague's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Delmiro Emeterio in the 46th minute. The supporters of Nouvelle Vague booed when Lyons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lyons's Luisito Quinten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casimiro Ugutz in the 49th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casimiro Ugutz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Renato Corrêa got free with Luisito Quinten in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 54 minutes Lyons's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Delmiro Emeterio who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Nouvelle Vague's Delmiro Emeterio to fire away a dangerous shot which Luisito Quinten despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 58thth minute of the game Casimiro Ugutz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lyons's Luisito Quinten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lyons's Dariusz Roano was substituted for Boleslaw Zielinski. After 64 played minutes Lyons got a freekick which was hit by Jose Satordi. In the 70th minute, Anselmo Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dariusz Roano in the 88th minute of play forced Nouvelle Vague's goalkeeper Inocencio Felipo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delmiro Emeterio during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute Luis Henrico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Quinten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
