The SAO JOANENSE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Lamego should have stopped the shot. When Austra VFC's Wellington Pires in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Alessandro Meirelles took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Hudson Gaúcho to make any attempt to save it. Wellington Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Lamego having to interfere. Amadeu Lamego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sócrates Silva in the 18th minute of play. Amadeu Lamego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wellington Pires in the 22nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Luisinho Netto could shoot a difficult shot in the 34th minute, which Hudson Gaúcho however easily saved by the left post. Hudson Gaúcho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luisinho Netto in the 34th minute. With a little luck, Austra VFC's Hudson Gaúcho got control of the ball when Luisinho Netto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sócrates Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Lamego having to make a save. A collision led to SAO JOANENSE FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Luisinho Netto hit a great ball. When Leandro Vianna fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Austra VFC's protests and gave Leandro Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. The SAO JOANENSE FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Austra VFC were winning 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jairo Dante to make the kick off. Amadeu Lamego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Pires in the 56th minute of play. After 58 minutes SAO JOANENSE FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Maxim Vasilitã who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Leandro Vianna managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. If Horácio Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Austra VFC were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after SAO JOANENSE FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maxim Vasilitã took the corner. In the 67th minute of the match, Wellington Pires tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Amadeu Lamego saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. SAO JOANENSE FC's Amadeu Lamego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Pires in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by SAO JOANENSE FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Maxim Vasilitã was slow to take the kick. During this time Austra VFC's players had a chance to rest. Austra VFC's Leandro Vianna was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Amadeu Lamego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 74 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Lamego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wellington Pires. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Pires in the 77th minute of play forced SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Lamego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SAO JOANENSE FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Austra VFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Austra VFC.
