The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wladyslaw Wietrzychowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Van Gogh in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, KOLEJORZ POZNAŃ's goal looked a bit too open when Cavad Lider came free, but Filipe Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksander Kalinowski in the 12th minute of play forced Husaria Tarnów's goalkeeper Wladyslaw Wietrzychowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 minutes, Norbert Bakes made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. KOLEJORZ POZNAŃ's Filipe Meireles tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. KOLEJORZ POZNAŃ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucas Moura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Olaf Domalik made in the 36th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Norbert Bakes immediately put the ball in play. KOLEJORZ POZNAŃ's Filipe Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cavad Lider in the 37th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Husaria Tarnów got a freekick which was hit by Olaf Domalik. Filipe Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cavad Lider in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, KOLEJORZ POZNAŃ's goal looked a bit too open when Cavad Lider came free, but Filipe Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Lucas Moura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 50th minute of the match, but Filipe Meireles made a huge save. After some careless play in the Husaria Tarnów defense, Paolo Cucao kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wladyslaw Wietrzychowski. The Husaria Tarnów fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wladyslaw Wietrzychowski should have stopped the shot. Wladyslaw Wietrzychowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Czeslaw Patora, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Paolo Cucao ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wladyslaw Wietrzychowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The corner led to Husaria Tarnów's Cavad Lider getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Moura got free with Filipe Meireles in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, KOLEJORZ POZNAŃ's goalkeeper Filipe Meireles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Moura. In the 78th minute, Paolo Cucao left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KOLEJORZ POZNAŃ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Cucao in the 84th minute of play forced Husaria Tarnów's goalkeeper Wladyslaw Wietrzychowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Husaria Tarnów players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
