Sergio Goicoechea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Azevedo in the 5th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Abel Pirani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GRÊMIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Abel Pirani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute, Leopoldo Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind GRÊMIO's goalkeeper Sergio Goicoechea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Risca Faca IMT's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GRÊMIO the free kick. The referee felt a red card was in order, 57 minutes into the game, when Marcelo Alcântara put in a rough tackle. Vitinho Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the match, Risca Faca IMT's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Pirani came free, but Vitinho Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 0-2 became the score in the 65th minute when 史挺南 elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Vitinho Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, 史挺南 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Risca Faca IMT's Vitinho Sarmento got control of the ball when Abel Pirani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Luiz Gustavo Mazza could shoot a difficult shot in the 81st minute, which Vitinho Sarmento however easily saved by the left post. In the 82nd minute Abel Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jardel Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aníbal Moura made in the 91st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luiz Gustavo Mazza however managed to control. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. GRÊMIO had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
