An unexpectedly hard shot by Quintino Carvalhais in the 23rd minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Paulo Gaizkine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zigmantas Gimbutas made a kick off. Paulo Gaizkine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 52nd minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Paulo Gaizkine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Catugi FC's Paulo Gaizkine got control of the ball when Quintino Carvalhais tried to sneak it across the goal line. Antonio Adán made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. With a little luck, Catugi FC's Paulo Gaizkine got control of the ball when Stig-Åke Mattsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 82 minutes Catugi FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Quintino Carvalhais who took care of the corner kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Gaizkine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Quintino Carvalhais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, SC Braga's Paulo Gaizkine threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stig-Åke Mattsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Paulo Gaizkine made an important save on a dangerous shot by Quintino Carvalhais in the 92nd minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Braga eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
