CE LAJEADENSE RS's Flavinho Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Matorin in the 4th minute of play. In the 35th match minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bater Palma to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bater Palma. Bater Palma did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Ronaldo Medeiros 43 minutes into the match. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bater Palma in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laerte Lucas made a kick off. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bater Palma in the 52nd minute of play. Caetano Saad kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Matorin came free, but Flavinho Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Bater Palma came free, but Ronaldo Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bater Palma's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 89th match minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Ely to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in CE LAJEADENSE RS's zone, Wilson Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavinho Reis came out of the goal and Wilson Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 95 played minutes Olavo Matorin rounded CE LAJEADENSE RS's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-4.
