Telmo Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yiğitcan İstanbullu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Telmo Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Grandis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Eguen Armesto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yiğitcan İstanbullu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Augusto Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro RS's goalkeeper Eguen Armesto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Grandis. The supporters of Jurassic Monsters SA booed when Cruzeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Lima in the 32nd minute of play forced Cruzeiro RS's goalkeeper Eguen Armesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro RS's goalkeeper Eguen Armesto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Grandis. In the 52nd match minute, Cruzeiro RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Jurassic Monsters SA's Thomas Hasselqvist got a free kick in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Grandis in the 55th minute of play forced Cruzeiro RS's goalkeeper Eguen Armesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruzeiro RS's Eguen Armesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Grandis in the 63rd minute of play. Cruzeiro RS's Tiago Esteves was substituted for Olívio Mazza. Zé Paulo Pombal hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute Pedro Grandis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eguen Armesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Cruzeiro RS defense, Pedro Grandis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eguen Armesto. The Cruzeiro RS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eguen Armesto should have stopped the shot. In the 79th minute Thomas Hasselqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eguen Armesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Hasselqvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eguen Armesto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thomas Hasselqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. 88 minutes into the game, Jurassic Monsters SA's Luiz Fabiano Lima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eguen Armesto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0.
