The audience thought a goal was coming when Olavo Matorin got free with Stefan Neubrandt in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronaldo Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Batiste Carrez in the 10th minute of the match. Fernandão Recife took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stefan Neubrandt. Stefan Neubrandt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 14th minute Batiste Carrez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefan Neubrandt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olavo Matorin in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Dany-Adams De Scheper cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ronaldo Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ronaldo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Lynch, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Internazionale-RS's Stefan Neubrandt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Matorin in the 26th minute of play. In the 26th minute, one of Internazionale-RS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Internazionale-RS. When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, Montevideo's Wilson Fernandez got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Stefan Neubrandt. Stefan Neubrandt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Internazionale-RS's Stefan Neubrandt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Internazionale-RS from getting a goal against them. Ronaldo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute Rogelio Lynch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Tavares in the 37th minute of play. After 38th play minutes Rogelio Lynch shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Ronaldo Medeiros and just under the crossbar into goal. After 44 played minutes Internazionale-RS got a freekick which was hit by Juarês Salles. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Olavo Matorin took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Stefan Neubrandt to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rogelio Lynch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's Laerte Lucas got a free kick in the 51st minute. Ronaldo Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge-Luis Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernandão Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeca de Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of Internazionale-RS booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Internazionale-RS's Batiste Carrez couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Montevideo. Stefan Neubrandt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldão Toscano in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Fernandão Recife who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Internazionale-RS's Stefan Neubrandt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros got control of the ball when Alan Tavares tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 70th minute Olavo Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Neubrandt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute, Olavo Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Internazionale-RS made a substitution. Yanek Krunev replaced Alan Tavares. When Dany-Adams De Scheper came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Internazionale-RS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dany-Adams De Scheper couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Internazionale-RS getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Jorge-Luis Pereira hit a great ball. Dany-Adams De Scheper kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Stefan Neubrandt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute Dany-Adams De Scheper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Internazionale-RS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Montevideo.
