After some careless play in the Fireball Esporte Clube defense, Wilton Vale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilie Grecescu. The Fireball Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilie Grecescu should have stopped the shot. 21 minutes into the game, TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilie Grecescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Wilton Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ilie Grecescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Wilton Vale scored 1-3 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilie Grecescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 36 minutes into the match, Fireball Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Souto came free, but Ilie Grecescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Fireball Esporte Clube defense, Ernani Souto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilie Grecescu. The Fireball Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilie Grecescu should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilton Vale in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ilie Grecescu saved Fireball Esporte Clube from getting behind. Gil Magalhães who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Rodolfo Salgado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Wilton Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 46 minutes into the match, Fireball Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Vale came free, but Ilie Grecescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ilie Grecescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Vale in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Wilton Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Grecescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 57 played minutes TAQUARI FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Vale. Rodolfo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilton Vale in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ilie Grecescu saved Fireball Esporte Clube from getting behind. After 63 minutes Fireball Esporte Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bernard Letourneau who took care of the corner kick. TAQUARI FC's Joakim Felin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ilie Grecescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience was convinced that Wilton Vale's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ilie Grecescu was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. After 72 played minutes Fireball Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Godoi. Wilton Vale blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ilie Grecescu having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Wilton Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ilie Grecescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Vale in the 96th minute of play. TAQUARI FC played a much better game than Fireball Esporte Clube and deserved their victory. The Fireball Esporte Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
