Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mixto Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Mixto Esporte Clube's Antônio Carlos Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Vale in the 6th minute of play. Szilárd Lengyel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Rodolfo Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mixto Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Travassos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wilton Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Antônio Carlos Travassos made a huge save. If Wilton Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antônio Carlos Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes TAQUARI FC got a freekick which was hit by Igor Tinoco. 23 minutes into the match, Mixto Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Vale came free, but Antônio Carlos Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. TAQUARI FC's Rodolfo Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Arantes in the 25th minute of play. After 27 minutes TAQUARI FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arlindo Santos who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Arlindo Santos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but TAQUARI FC's Rodolfo Salgado did a great save. If Wilton Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio Carlos Travassos came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale. But to his dismay, Wilton Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, TAQUARI FC's Ernani Souto got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute, Wilton Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Mixto Esporte Clube's Antônio Carlos Travassos got control of the ball when Ernani Souto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 46 played minutes Mixto Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Edinho Goiano. Bernard Letourneau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antônio Carlos Travassos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edinho Arantes made a kick off. Wilton Vale might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antônio Carlos Travassos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilton Vale ran back to his position shaking his head. Antônio Carlos Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilton Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Wilton Vale made a precise shot to the right of Antônio Carlos Travassos. Mixto Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Antônio Carlos Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delmiro Bingen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Mixto Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Isac Cioroianu hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute, Bernard Letourneau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mixto Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Travassos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mixto Esporte Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bernard Letourneau was slow to take the kick. During this time TAQUARI FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 76th match minute, Mixto Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauã Marques to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute of the match TAQUARI FC got a corner. Mixto Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bernard Letourneau ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on TAQUARI FC's corner Frank Lampard fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antônio Carlos Travassos quite easily take care of the ball. Antônio Carlos Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Vale in the 81st minute of the match. When Wilton Vale came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the TAQUARI FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilton Vale couldn't finish the play. Isac Cioroianu's late challenge caught a TAQUARI FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isac Cioroianu helped the player get up and apologised. After 84 played minutes Mixto Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Isac Cioroianu. After 86 minutes Mixto Esporte Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bernard Letourneau who took care of the corner kick. Bernard Letourneau made a great header on TAQUARI FC's corner, it was just that Mixto Esporte Clube's Antônio Carlos Travassos managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 90th match minute, Mixto Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isac Cioroianu to maneuver through the defense. Wilton Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 93 minutes into the match, Mixto Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Vale came free, but Antônio Carlos Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Salgado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Szilárd Lengyel. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The TAQUARI FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mixto Esporte Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
