FÊNIX F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Fabinho dos Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Paraibano. FÊNIX F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabinho dos Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. João Paulo Prata made in the 14th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Club Athletico Paulistano's Agnaldo Mattos. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by FÊNIX F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Saad Dar was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Athletico Paulistano's players had a chance to rest. Marquinhos Teixeira hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Alfredo Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 24th minute Zé Paulo de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Paraibano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabinho dos Santoss short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Alfredo Paraibano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Club Athletico Paulistano's attentive Zé Paulo de Senna managed to snatch the ball when João Paulo Prata made a throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game. Alfredo Paraibano was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Fabinho dos Santos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fabinho dos Santos really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Fabinho dos Santos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfredo Paraibano. That made the score 4-0 in the 37 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho dos Santos in the 40th minute of play forced FÊNIX F.C.'s goalkeeper Alfredo Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd match minute, FÊNIX F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Carlos Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. FÊNIX F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Fabinho dos Santos scored to the left of an out of position Alfredo Paraibano, making the score, 5-0. In the 46th minute, Zé Paulo de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabinho dos Santos was the one to do the kick off. 50 minutes into the match, FÊNIX F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Fabinho dos Santos came free, but Alfredo Paraibano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FÊNIX F.C.'s Alfredo Paraibano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho dos Santos in the 52nd minute of play. After 64 played minutes Kauã Moreno rounded Club Athletico Paulistano's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 5-1. After having played for 68 minutes, Fabinho dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Athletico Paulistano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabinho dos Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kauã Moreno's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Acácio Lara firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fabinho dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FÊNIX F.C.'s Genílson Ferraz was substituted for João Carlos Medeiros. In the 79th minute, Marquinhos Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Saad Dar charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saad Dar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Saad Dar hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Bengt Bouchard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Acácio Lara made a huge save. Fabinho dos Santos struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Alfredo Paraibano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Athletico Paulistano. When the referee ended the match the Club Athletico Paulistano players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
