In the 14th match minute, FÊNIX F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. When Wilson Arósio came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Arósio couldn't finish the play. FÊNIX F.C.'s Alfredo Paraibano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save FÊNIX F.C. from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Alfredo Paraibano threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Orçun Yalınalp, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Iulian Pietreanu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alfredo Paraibano. That made the score 3-0 after 39 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iulian Pietreanu made a kick off. Wilson Arósio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Arósio in the 57th minute of play forced FÊNIX F.C.'s goalkeeper Alfredo Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orçun Yalınalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evaristo Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, one of FÊNIX F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FÊNIX F.C.. There was no doubt that FC UNIREA Alba Iulia were the better team. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
