Frits Berendt started the match with the kick off. Aníbal Alagoano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Edinho Lira made a huge save. Jenipapo SC's Aníbal Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11thth minute of the game Vinicio Junior who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but INTER FC's Edinho Lira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 13th minute, Kajetan Pilarski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aníbal Alagoano came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edinho Lira could save by the left post. Karl Pilgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frits Berendt in the 28th minute of play. INTER FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emerson Cruz in the 29th minute. Edinho Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Alagoano in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match, Ricardinho Pena tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edinho Lira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 38 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Cruz. 42 minutes into the match, Ricardinho Pena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edinho Lira. INTER FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardinho Pena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Vinicio Junior received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Edinho Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aníbal Alagoano to make the kick off. Aníbal Alagoano scored 3-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edinho Lira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edinho Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute Aníbal Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Vinicio Junior managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jenipapo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinicio Junior was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edinho Lira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. INTER FC made a substitution. Germano Luz replaced Frits Berendt. Edinho Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinicio Junior, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute Aníbal Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl Pilgren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé Carlos Monteiro scored 5-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edinho Lira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of INTER FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jenipapo SC:s goal. Edinho Lira had in the 85thth minute some difficulties stopping Aníbal Alagoano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Edinho Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardinho Pena in the 87th minute of the match. When Jenipapo SC's Aníbal Alagoano in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye INTER FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Ricardinho Pena got a free kick in the 95th minute. Karl Pilgren acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gugu Campidelis. There was no doubt that Jenipapo SC were the better team. Jenipapo SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
