Alessandro Del Piero hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 18 minutes in the game, Alessandro Del Piero dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Chris Mahler fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atletico Nacional's protests and gave Chris Mahler a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute JUVENTUS BIANCONERI FC were awarded a corner. Lilian Thuram went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to JUVENTUS BIANCONERI FC's David Trezeguet getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Moscu came free, but Gora Argandona reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gora Argandona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro Del Piero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atletico Nacional's Gora Argandona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costin Moscu in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Trezeguet in the 31st minute of play forced Club Atletico Nacional's goalkeeper Gora Argandona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gora Argandona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costin Moscu, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Club Atletico Nacional's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the final whistle sounded JUVENTUS BIANCONERI FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Atletico Nacional.
