In the 5thth minute of the game Guido Vissenaeken who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luiz Fábio Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guido Vissenaeken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Fábio Leite having to make a save. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 15th minute of play. José Augusto Couto hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The supporters of Brugge United booed when Blumenau Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrico Orsi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blumenau Esporte Clube's İlkan Lefter managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sandro Gaúcho in the 23 minute of the game. After 27 minutes of play, Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luiz Fábio Leite was left in no man's land by his defense there! 33 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrico Orsi. If Guido Vissenaeken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luiz Fábio Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Vissenaeken in the 39th minute of play. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Bin Shevchenko got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Nildo Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaspar Van Den Broeck in the 46th minute of play. After 47 minutes Blumenau Esporte Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaspar Van Den Broeck who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Guido Vissenaeken managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The Blumenau Esporte Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brugge United were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guido Vissenaeken was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute of the game, Ümit Karan landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 51 minutes, Xandinho Sharkin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blumenau Esporte Clube and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Xandinho Sharkin hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Waud Huijbrechts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brugge United made a substitution. Arnauld Van Impe replaced Guido Vissenaeken. 64 minutes into the match, Arnauld Van Impe notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite. Luiz Fábio Leite was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 71 played minutes Blumenau Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Donato Mazza. Brugge United's Sandro Gaúcho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Donato Mazza in the 75 minute of the game. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute of the match Brugge United got a corner. Blumenau Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaspar Van Den Broeck ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Waud Huijbrechts put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Fábio Leite. After 85 minutes, Arnauld Van Impe made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arnauld Van Impe kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Luiz Fábio Leite made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Arnauld Van Impe sent off a good shot on target. 95 minutes into the game, Xandinho Sharkin threw the ball into play from the sideline. Brugge United's Sandro Gaúcho quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Brugge United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
