When Everardo Cordero fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Balvanera's protests and gave Everardo Cordero a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Deportivo Balvanera! Deportivo Balvanera:s Omar Lauren showed great skill when he stopped Valtteri Snellman:s penalty. A throw-in in the 44th minute of the game was made by Natalio Martino with Cristiano Graziano as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silverio Lluterio made a kick off.
