In the 16th minute, Måns Sandberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Karl-Erik Norström. The goal made the score 2-0. Norrlands Athen were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Skövde AIK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Filcho Slivkov took the corner. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström got control of the ball when Juan Lebron tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute Kurt Hamrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Hamrin came free, but Manfred Fribäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Måns Sandberg came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Keegan. Norrlands Athen were furious when Filcho Slivkov was red carded, 48 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Måns Sandberg to make the kick off.
