Egídio Fernandez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kjell Sandström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The throw-in from Cornel Iorgu in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Skövde AIK's Lu Rong Yi. In the 47th minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell Sandström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benigno Urruchua to strike the kick off in the second half. Chen Ao Fan scored 0-2 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kjell Sandström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Trojanskahästen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benigno Urruchua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trojanskahästen's Karl-Johan Finman was substituted for Cornel Iorgu. Karl-Erik Norström came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Trojanskahästen's Benigno Urruchua. But to his dismay, Benigno Urruchua quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benigno Urruchua in the 72nd minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Hamrin made a great header on Skövde AIK's corner, it was just that Trojanskahästen's Kjell Sandström managed to reach the ball for a save. 76 minutes into the match, Trojanskahästen's goalkeeper Kjell Sandström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kevin Keegan. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Skövde AIK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
