Holger Vester didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Björn Ström went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 18th minute of play forced Black is Back's goalkeeper Peter Svanberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvin Melhus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Holger Vester having to interfere. Hammarby IF:s Holger Vester showed great skill when he stopped Gugu Goiano:s penalty. Hammarby IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Isaltino Paes in the 34th minute. The corner led to Hammarby IF's Gösta Söderberg getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 45th match minute, Black is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Sjögren to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Peter Svanberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Totti in the 51st minute of the match. A hard shot 54 in the game by Björn Ström from a close distance when the talented Holger Vester managed to make a qualified save. Hammarby IF's players were relieved. Björn Ström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Holger Vester when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 60th minute, Celedonio Dominguez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peter Svanberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Hammarby IF's Anders Lindblom was substituted for Bo-Erik Wallin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 70th minute of play forced Black is Back's goalkeeper Peter Svanberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Black is Back's Peter Svanberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Black is Back's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Söderberg came free, but Peter Svanberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Gösta Söderberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Svanberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Black is Back's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Duarte came free, but Peter Svanberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otto Kaxe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Holger Vester came out and tried to block the shot, but Otto Kaxe slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Söderberg in the 83rd minute of play forced Black is Back's goalkeeper Peter Svanberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Black is Back's Björn Ström got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 minutes of play, Hammarby IF's Gösta Söderberg made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Peter Svanberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 95th match minute, Black is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvin Melhus to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Celedonio Dominguez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hammarby IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Celedonio Dominguez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Svanberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Despite being the better team, Hammarby IF failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
