Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sten Melberg kicked off to start the match. 6 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's Gösta Söderberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George Kristiansson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Hammarby IF booed when Di Röe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens Åkerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Melberg came free, but Holger Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Di Röe's George Kristiansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Di Röe from getting a goal against them. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Loss in the 19th minute of play. After some careless play in the Di Röe defense, Celedonio Dominguez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of George Kristiansson. The Di Röe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Kristiansson should have stopped the shot. George Kristiansson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francesco Totti in the 25th minute. After 30 played minutes Di Röe got a freekick which was hit by Sten Melberg. Holger Vester stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sten Melberg's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 40th minute Sten Melberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sten Melberg came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Di Röe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sten Melberg couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Melberg in the 43rd minute of play forced Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Holger Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was a well-played corner which Edu Loss managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celedonio Dominguez made a kick off. Sten Melberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Holger Vester having to make a save. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby IF from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sten Melberg got free with Holger Vester in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 59 minutes Hammarby IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Herman Benett who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Herman Benett almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hammarby IF's Holger Vester did a great save. George Kristiansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celedonio Dominguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute of the match, Edu Loss tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Holger Vester saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Di Röe made a substitution. Conny Ronaldo replaced Edu Loss. Hammarby IF's Anders Lindblom was substituted for Bo-Erik Wallin. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hammarby IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herman Benett was slow to take the kick. During this time Di Röe's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Herman Benett got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Holger Vester quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gösta Söderberg kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Gologan, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Hammarby IF's Gösta Söderberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. George Kristiansson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Hammarby IF's zone, Romeo Gologan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Holger Vester came out of the goal and Romeo Gologan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Di Röe's George Kristiansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 90th minute of play. After 95 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Celedonio Dominguez. Hammarby IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
