Célio Mangueira started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute, Maicon de Amorim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hélio Furtado was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Maicon de Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hélio Furtado. Joinville Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maicon de Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Maicon de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Hélio Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Joinville Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Júlio Valladares hit a great ball. In the 17th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maicon de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Joinville Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fernando Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joinville Esporte Clube's Hélio Furtado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Joinville Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Joinville Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 26 minutes of play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Bebeto Leal made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edvaldo Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Célio Mangueira in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvaldo Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio Chaves got free with Hélio Furtado in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hélio Furtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maicon de Amorim in the 36th minute. Maicon de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Hélio Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Valladares during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hélio Furtado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maicon de Amorim was the one to do the kick off. Edvaldo Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Leal in the 60th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Edvaldo Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélio Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Chaves in the 64th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Evaristo Madureira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joinville Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jovens Democratas MZC the free kick. Evaristo Madureira hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Jovens Democratas MZC's Allan Baiano was substituted for Júlio Guerra. In the 68th minute, Evaristo Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Emanuel Branco notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Joinville Esporte Clube's Hélio Furtado. Hélio Furtado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Jovens Democratas MZC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Valdemar Guerra hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Edvaldo Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bebeto Leal. Zé Augusto Tinoco might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélio Furtado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Augusto Tinoco ran back to his position shaking his head. When Jovens Democratas MZC's Wilian Antunes in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Joinville Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Joinville Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Maicon de Amorim came free, but Hélio Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's André Luiz Esteves got a free kick in the 94th minute. Edvaldo Costa had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Evaristo Madureira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Jovens Democratas MZC fully deserved thier win.
