The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Glauco de Amorim hit a great ball. 4 minutes into the match, Gláuber da Costa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Catugi FC's Luizão Braga. Luizão Braga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dida Batista hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 8 played minutes Palmares Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Secco. 9 minutes into the match, Palmares Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Cristiano da Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dida Batista. After 15 minutes of play, Palmares Futebol Clube's Luisinho Nogueira made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luizão Braga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Silas Barbosa charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silas Barbosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Silas Barbosa got a free kick in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Palmares Futebol Clube's Ismael Secco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luizão Braga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Luizão Braga came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Palmares Futebol Clube's Ismael Secco. But to his dismay, Ismael Secco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 25 minutes into the match, Luisinho Nogueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizão Braga. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisinho Nogueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Luizão Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Secco in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Aparecido came free, but Luizão Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Jean Aparecido had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizão Braga. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jean Aparecido was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Ismael Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Luizão Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Kiko de Lima mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catugi FC and the Palmares Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Palmares Futebol Clube's Frederico Soares was substituted for Hélio Vale. In the 48th minute of the match Jean Aparecido shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luizão Braga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Catugi FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Palmares Futebol Clube were winning 0-7.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dida Batista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ismael Secco's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luizão Braga firmly grabbed it by the left post. Catugi FC's Luizão Braga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Catugi FC from getting a goal against them. Cássio Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Luizão Braga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frederico Soares's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. 66 minutes into the game, Ismael Secco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Luizão Braga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Oswaldo Sena fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmares Futebol Clube's protests and gave Oswaldo Sena a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmares Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Oswaldo Sena hit a great ball. In the 70th match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Jean Aparecido took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luizão Braga. Catugi FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luizão Braga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisinho Nogueira's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Ismael Secco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-10. Luizão Braga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 83rd minute, Palmares Futebol Clube's Ismael Secco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luizão Braga. Luizão Braga yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-11. Cristiano da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Matos in the 86th minute of play. Gláuber da Costa struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Luizão Braga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmares Futebol Clube. Luizão Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The Catugi FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palmares Futebol Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
