Ezequiel Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Artur Sergipano made a precise shot to the right of Luizão Braga. Catugi FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. AF CERRADO's Didi Gaúcho got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kiko de Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Dida Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dida Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severino Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute Arí Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Silas Barbosa. Rômulo Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Arí Motta took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luizão Braga. Luizão Braga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Kiko de Lima's late challenge caught a AF CERRADO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kiko de Lima helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko de Lima to maneuver through the defense. AF CERRADO's Artur Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arí Motta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kiko de Lima was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 53 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the game, one of Catugi FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 55 minutes, AF CERRADO's Artur Sergipano got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Luizão Braga. In the 65th minute, AF CERRADO's Arí Motta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. In the 67th match minute, AF CERRADO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. Luizão Braga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artur Sergipano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Luizão Braga made a huge save. 76 minutes into the game, Silas Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catugi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AF CERRADO the free kick. Artur Sergipano hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Artur Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Braga having to interfere. Wellington Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If João Carlos Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When AF CERRADO's Arí Motta in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Catugi FC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Wellington Schmidt hit a great ball. In the 93rdth minute of the game Ezequiel Melo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catugi FC's Luizão Braga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With splendid footwork Didi Gaúcho arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-6 by the left pole in the game's 95th minute. In the 98th match minute, AF CERRADO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wellington Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. AF CERRADO's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
