After 18th play minutes Joélson Paraibano shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Amadeu Prado and just under the crossbar into goal. With a little luck, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Gianluigi Donnarumma got control of the ball when Oscar Prado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gianluigi Donnarumma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Bastos in the 37th minute. After 38 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Paraibano. Donato Saraiva hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Aníbal de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joélson Paraibano made a kick off. Amadeu Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Joélson Paraibano got a free kick in the 57th minute. The supporters of Sport Club Mavericks booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel França didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romário Senadović took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gianluigi Donnarumma. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vitinho Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Saraiva came free, but Gianluigi Donnarumma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. S.E.R. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Leopoldo Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Sanches was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu Prado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sport Club Mavericks's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leopoldo Sanches was slow to take the kick. During this time S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's players had a chance to rest. In the 94th match minute, Sport Club Mavericks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro de Castro to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sport Club Mavericks had won after a very even match.
