The supporters of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ booed when PEÇONHENTO FC MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's José Moraes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed José Moraes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and José Moraes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Noel Rosado took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cacá Sousa. Cacá Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, Fellipe Pinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matías Valle. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fellipe Pinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Nogueira got free with Cacá Sousa in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fellipe Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matías Valle having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cacá Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Luiz Marinho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Freire in the 35th minute of play forced PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Matías Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Freire came free, but Matías Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Pedro Luiz Marinho in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Cacá Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Rosado in the 61st minute of the match. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Pedro Luiz Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the PEÇONHENTO FC MG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luiz Marinho couldn't finish the play. Cacá Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfredo de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 84 minutes on the clock, Elivélton Neves commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of PEÇONHENTO FC MG:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ:s goal. After 95 played minutes Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Fellipe Pinho. PEÇONHENTO FC MG were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
