The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Reinaldo Marquez. After 5 played minutes, Granadero10's Rodolfo de Lara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edvaldo Leal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Granadero10 reached it. 6 minutes into the game, Júlio Faria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SORRISO E. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Granadero10 the free kick. In the 6th minute, Júlio Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 10 played minutes Granadero10 got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Netto. If Leopoldo Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artur Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Barros having to interfere. Sydney Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 minutes of play, SORRISO E. C.'s Júlio Faria made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sydney Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! 23 minutes into the match, Artur Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sydney Barros. Granadero10's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artur Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 30 minutes into the game, Reginaldo de Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Sydney Barros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Artur Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Barros having to interfere. In the 54th minute of the match Pedro Augusto Capixaba shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edvaldo Leal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Leopoldo Trancoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sydney Barros was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Artur Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonel Vasconcelos took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edvaldo Leal. Edvaldo Leal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Rodolfo de Lara struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Edvaldo Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granadero10. In the 68thth minute of the game Leopoldo Trancoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Granadero10's Sydney Barros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sydney Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Trancoso in the 71st minute of play. Edinho Pimenta charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edinho Pimenta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Granadero10's Sydney Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo de Brito in the 81st minute of play. In the 86th minute Tiaguinho Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reginaldo de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After having played for 88 minutes, Rodolfo de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Granadero10's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Júlio Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Sydney Barros made a huge save. Reginaldo de Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reginaldo de Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. SORRISO E. C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
