C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Meirelles came free, but Edvaldo Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Otávio Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes of play, SORRISO E. C.'s Júlio Faria made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luizão Diniz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute of the match, Didi Dionísio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edvaldo Leal was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Frederico Amorim fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SORRISO E. C.'s protests and gave Frederico Amorim a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, SORRISO E. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Luizão Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Faria in the 40th minute of play. Luizão Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. C.'s Edvaldo Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauan do Nascimento in the 56th minute of play. Edvaldo Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Toscano in the 57th minute of the match. After 58 minutes SORRISO E. C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Reinaldo Marquez hit a great ball. Edvaldo Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otávio Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
