Abelardo Medeiros's late challenge caught a DENVER™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abelardo Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. Abelardo Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Márcio Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delfim Bastos made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Abelardo Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute of the match SE Palmeiras got a corner. DENVER™'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oswaldo Godoi ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on SE Palmeiras's corner Oswaldo Godoi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Delfim Bastos quite easily take care of the ball. Robinho de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Guedes in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Conrado Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robinho de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Vinhas in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Roberto Andrade hit a great ball. Robinho de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After a rather tough play, DENVER™'s Conrado Paraibano got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 39th minute, Caio de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the SE Palmeiras defense, Caio de Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robinho de Sena. The SE Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robinho de Sena should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abelardo Medeiros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robinho de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Guedes in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to DENVER™ getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Waldir Romero hit a great ball. In the 57th match minute, DENVER™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Robinho de Sena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Eduardo Araújo in the 59th minute. Dito Donatello hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Paraense. Natanael Paraense charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Natanael Paraense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot 75 in the game by Márcio Guedes from a close distance when the talented Robinho de Sena managed to make a qualified save. SE Palmeiras's players were relieved. A collision led to DENVER™ getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Adrianinho Negri hit a great ball. DENVER™'s Delfim Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswaldo Godoi in the 77th minute of play. Ian Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. With a little luck, SE Palmeiras's Robinho de Sena got control of the ball when Márcio Guedes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robinho de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Robinho de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme Toscano in the 87th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Márcio Guedes got free with Robinho de Sena in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
