In the 10th match minute, Compostela FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. Compostela FSCMZ's Luiz Fernando Baiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Compostela FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. Compostela FSCMZ were furious when Ulisses Senna was red carded, 13 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Compostela FSCMZ! In the 47th minute, Bernardo Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
