After a rather tough play, Brasiliense FC's Amílton Medeiros got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 8th minute Raimundo Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomé Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 15th minute Celsinho Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goalkeeper Tomé Mota had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celsinho Dionísio. 21 minutes into the game, Agua Santa's Laércio Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clemente Lopez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Eugênio Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Agua Santa's protests and gave Eugênio Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. Adalberto Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Enrique Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agua Santa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrique Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiago Cosme scored 0-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Clemente Lopez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Téo Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Celsinho Dionísio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Tomé Mota made a huge save. Agua Santa's Tomé Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Baiano in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Agua Santa made a substitution. Doni Recife replaced Dinei Cearense. After 60 played minutes Brasiliense FC got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Dionísio. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enrique Abreu in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clemente Lopez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Clemente Lopez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laércio Neves's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Clemente Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomé Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Dionísio in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute Luiz Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute, Eugênio Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Brasiliense FC booed when Agua Santa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Rosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Lúcio Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Agua Santa getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rafael Cruz hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, Celsinho Dionísio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomé Mota. Agua Santa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celsinho Dionísio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Laércio Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brasiliense FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
